Lovely Oval Mirror

I live in a small city of 45,000! A great place to live and bring up kids so I am not complaining.
I have lived in very large cities like Tulsa, Oklahoma and loved it.
But I have everything I need here and am very happy to be in a smaller town.
The one sad thing, as a DIY person and a lover of repurposing furniture, is that Craigslist is not popular or used much in my area.
However, selling on Facebook is getting BIG here.
Like everything that is a good price, you have to be first and quick on decision making.
Case in point...this mirror. It looks good and it looks old right? Well I committed to buying it but when I got it, I found that it's frame is plastic however, I do think it's old but not real old...after all, it's plastic. From the looks of it and the back, I'd say 1950's or 1960's.

I loved the bit of silver loss on the mirror and the details on the frame.
So I used Annie Sloan's Paris Gray with a top dry brush coat of French Linen. Now it hangs in our Mud Room and looks pretty. Even caught Hubby putting on his ballcap using the mirror the other day!

  1. I see frames and mirror frames like this one all the time at Goodwill. I get all excited and then I go over to it, only to find out that it's plastic! Yours looks fabulous with that coat of paint!

  6. The plastic syroco-style paint easily and are usually more ornate and affordable. I love them. Yours looks great!
