Framed Rose Print Serendipity!

To me, it is serendipity when things just fall into place or when I am at the right place, at the right time.

This is the case with my framed rose print.

I came across a beautiful old rose print that had damaged edges and the previous owner folded the sides to make it fit another frame. I have a thing for roses, especially vintage.

I knew that I would need to sacrifice some of the print if I was able to find a frame, preferably old, to fit this print.

I was running errands and had no intention on going to the thrift store when my car just seemed to steer me there. As soon as I walked in, my eyes saw this old, large frame for $10 and I knew that was why I was meant to be there.

I cleaned up the dirty frame and cut a piece of plexiglass to fit. Sometimes I use plexiglass instead of real glass when, 1) It would make an already heavy frame heavier, or 2) When the surface that the glass sets on is not perfectly level, usually in very old frames, causing the glass to break.

My intention was to sell this but it came out so lovely, I have to keep it...at least for a while. I am also very challenged when it comes to wall space only because I have so much stuff lovelies on my walls. I finally decided on my master bedroom because the oak on the frame would go well with the elm hardwood floors. So the wall frame dance started and now this is what it looks like.

  3. OMG! I used to have that exact same print. I absolutely adored it, and it hung in my bathroom for the longest time until one day, my son knocked it off the wall, and when the glass broke it scratched the print. I loved the beautiful green beads on the brass/glass dish. Warms my heart to see it again.
